BEFORE FAME

John Edmund Mulaney was born on August 26, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in a Roman Catholic family with a strong academic background. His father, Charles W. Mulaney Jr., is an attorney, while his mother, Ellen Mulaney, is a professor at Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law. Mulaney attended St. Clement School in Chicago and later graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep.
