Born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he rose to prominence through his magnetic on-screen presence and rugged good looks. Momoa gained international recognition for his portrayal of Khal Drogo in the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" and later cemented his fame by starring as Arthur Curry (Aquaman) in the DC Extended Universe.

Jason Momoa’s journey to stardom was far from overnight. Raised in Norwalk, Iowa, by his mother, Coni, Jason was initially drawn to the arts, studying marine biology at a community college in Iowa and later transferring to the University of Hawaii. His modeling career began when he was discovered by international designer Takeo Kobayashi in 1998, at the age of 19. Momoa won Hawaii's Model of the Year award in 1999 and went on to host the Miss Teen Hawaii contest.
