Jason Paul "J" Brown (born 13 June 1976) is an English former singer.

He is best known as a former member and lead singer and rapper of boy band Five.

1997

In 1997, Brown auditioned for Five, a new boy band-style group with "attitude and edge" and was eventually selected to be part of the band along with Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Sean Conlon and Abz Love.

Five subsequently were signed by Simon Cowell and BMG/RCA for a six-album deal.

Five went on to enjoy massive success worldwide, selling over 20 million records in their four years.

2001

The band split up on 27 September 2001.

During this time, Brown experienced depression and attempted suicide.

After the disbandment, Brown devoted his time to charity work and several protests against Iraq War.

2002

Since 2002, Brown has left his artistic career to pursue a degree in architecture.

2006

In 2006 Five attempted a comeback without Conlon, but failed to sign with a new label and the band disbanded again.

2007

In 2007 Brown was third place in the seventh series of ITV's reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.

2013

In January 2013, Five returned to star the ITV2's reality show The Big Reunion, but Brown declined to join the group again, claiming he didn't feel comfortable on stage.

Brown was previously in an on-off relationship with Spice Girls singer Melanie C.
