BEFORE FAME Cassie grew up in New London, Connecticut, and attended the Williams School, a preparatory school located on the Connecticut College campus. Originally beginning her career in modeling at the age of 14, she moved to New York City after high school to pursue a career in entertainment. During this time, she was also honing her craft as a singer and dancer. She caught the attention of music producer Ryan Leslie, who signed her to his NextSelection imprint early in her career.
