Joseph Robinette "Beau" Biden III, born on February 3, 1969, in Wilmington, Delaware, was an American attorney, politician, and officer in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. Serving as the 44th Attorney General of Delaware from 2007 to 2015, Beau was known for his dedication to public service and legal work. Tragically, his life was cut short when he passed away on May 30, 2015, from brain cancer. Beau Biden was the eldest son of President Joe Biden and his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden.

BEFORE FAME

Before stepping into his role as Delaware's Attorney General, Beau Biden pursued an extensive education and career in law and the military. He graduated from Archmere Academy, the University of Pennsylvania, and Syracuse University College of Law. His career in law began at the U.S. Department of Justice in 1995, where he worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. In addition to his civilian legal career, Beau served his country in the Delaware Army National Guard, where he achieved the rank of Major in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.
